Like you know, I suffered a small injury in my thigh that forced me to stop. I couldn’t play the last game against Lithuania – a loss, by the way, that should make us more ready for the competition- and now I have to take a day at a time to see when I will play again. Luckily the injured is not very bad, but it’s a shame that it came now cause I had gotten back to my rhythm after going through a flu and some back problems. But I hope to make it on time and be able to help the team win the gold medal, which is our main goal.

Como sabéis, esta semana he sufrido una pequeña lesión que me ha obligado a parar. No pude jugar el último partido contra Lituania (una derrota que, por otra parte, nos debe servir para estar más preparados para la competición) y ahora tengo que ir día a día para saber cuándo podré jugar. Por suerte la lesión no es grave, pero es un contratiempo que me fastidia un poco porque ahora había encontrado mi ritmo después de pasar una gripe y recuperarme de la espalda. Pero espero llegar a tiempo y poder recuperar el ritmo y poder ayudar al equipo a ganar partidos y la medalla de oro, nuestro gran objetivo.

We have played the first four games of preparation, and everything has been good (except for the injuries of Pau, Alex and Jorge). We are working hard and we have been able to play our game and win all games. We won the Tournament in Sevilla, were the atmosphere was great, and we beat difficult teams like Slovenia and Lithuania, which are hard to beat. I hope to have more good news soon... And I see the visits on the web site are still high, even during the summer, and that's good. Hope you stick around...

Ya hemos jugado los cuatro primeros partidos de preparación, y la verdad es que las cosas han empezado bien. Exceptuando las lesiones de Pau, Jorge y Alex, el resumen es muy positivo. Estamos trabajando bien y hemos ganado todos los partidos, los tres últimos en Sevilla donde el embiante ha sido espectacular. Los dos últimos partidos contra Eslovenia y Lituania no eran fáciles, pero hemos conseguido hacer nuestro baloncesto. Espero poder seguir contando cosas buenas pronto... Y por cierto, veo que hay muchas visitas en la web incluso en verano, espero que esto siga así!

The new era in the national team has started for real. We played our first preparation game (win against Cuba) and this week we have a torurnament is Sevilla, where we are right now. The atmosphere will be great. We are working hard and the chemistry is great in the team... That's why the commercials look so good.

La nueva etapa de la selección ya ha empezado de verdad. Ganamos el primer partido de preparación, ya esta semana llegan dos más. Como ya sabéis estoy en Cádiz con la selección española, preparando el Europeo de Polonia. Este fin de semana, el buen ambiente de la concentración se ha visto alterado por la desgraciada muerte del jugador del Español Dani Jarque. La notícia ha sido un duro golpe para todos nosotros y, personalmente, me gustaría enviar a su familia especialmente, y a sus compañeros de equipo y integrantes del club, mi más sentido y sincero pésame. En momentos como este es difícil expresarse, sólo queda mostrar solidaridad y animar a seguir para adelante a su gente más cercana. Un abrazo para ellos.

After the vacations, now it´s time for the national team. the time has come to start working in order to be able to achieve our goal: the gold medal in the European Championship in Poland. Like every year, we are now in Cádiz and, like allways, we are a team in and outside the court. I'im sure that, If we work hard, we will be able to win the gold. I can't wait for that to happen. Me, after some days sick, I'm back 100% and ready to work. The first days, like you see in the picture, are for us to meet, do medical and physicl exams, and start working. I can’t help but feel envious about Pau Gasol today… I feel fappy too, obviously. The Lakers of Pau are only one win away from winning the NBA title. When you see it from outside is one thing, but now, after me playing one season and the first round of the playoffs I know for sure that it’s really difficult to be able to have an opportunity to win a title. Pau has fought for many years to have this chance and he deserves to win. I’ve been staying up to see the finals live – it’s 3 am in Badalona when the game starts- and they have been great. We’ll see If they end on Sunday…

No puedo esconder que siento envidia sana de Pau Gasol a día de hoy… Y también alegría. Los Lakers de Pau están a una sola victoria de conseguir el anillo de la NBA. Cuando los ves desde fuera es una cosa, pero habiendo jugado una temporada y una ronda de playoffs en la NBA tengo muy claro que es muy difícil llegar a tener la oportunidad de ganar el anillo. Pau ha luchado y destacado en la liga durante muchos años antes de tener esta oportunidad y creo que lo merece. Estos días me he levantado a ver la final en directo y está siendo apasionante. For the first time in a lot of time I have been able to disconnect from basketball for real. Like I said before, I've been at my basketball camp in Mallorca. We all have fun every year, and it's somethin that I look forward every summer. It's also a great opportunity to be home, something I couldn't live without. But my real vacations started after that. I've been in Ibiza the last days, realaxing, enjoying the beach and sea and the island. Nothing basketball related! Soon I will join the national team, then we have the European Championship in Poland and then the new NBA season, almost with no rest in between. That's why I want to make the most of my vacations, relax and enjoy my family and friends. From here I would like to wish you all a great summer.

Por primera vez en muchos meses he podido desconectar totalmente del baloncesto.Como conte antes, estuve en Mallorca, en mi campus. Nos lo pasamos muy bien todos. Para mi es importante tener esta cita con los ninos cada ano. Tambien es una oportunidad para pasar unos dias en mi tierra, algo de lo que no podria prescindir. Pero las verdaderas vacaciones llegaron despues. He estado unos dias en Ibiza, relajado, disfrutando del mar y de la isla en general. Nada de baloncesto! Pronto llegara la concentracion con la seleccion espanola, el Europeo de Polonia y, casi sin descanso, la temporada NBA. This past weekend ended the first week of my basketball camp, on Saturday, and started the second, on Sunday. The last they have been very busy, at the camp and also out of it because of different commitments that I had. Here in Mallorca I’m home and my friends are with me (some of them work at the camp) and it’s a good way to make the most out of my vacations. On Friday I did the inaugural speech at the local festivities of Campanet, the village where the camp is held. I was a little nervous to speak in front of so many people but I think it was ok). On Sunday, Ricky (Rubio) came to the camp as a guest, and this week Pau Ribas, also a former teammate at Joventut, and my sister Marta will make visits too. So I will be in good company.

Este fin de semana terminó el primer turno de mi campus, el sábado , y empezó el segundo, el domingo. Han sido días repletos de actividades, tanto en el campus como fuera, con diversos compromisos que tenía. Estos me han servido también para aislarme de algunos rumores sobre mi futuro. Aquí en Mallorca estoy en mi tierra y con mis amigos (algunos de ellos trabajan en el campus conmigo) y es una forma de aprovechar las vacaciones. El viernes asistí a la inauguración de la fiesta mayor de Campanet, el pueblo donde hacemos el campus . Bueno, no sólo asistí; fui el encargado del pregón. Estaba un poco nervioso pero al final creo que salió bien. También visité un 3x3 en Petra, y el mercado de Palma con la consejera de Comercio, Industria y Energia, Francesca Vives. El domingo vino Ricky (Rubio) de visita, y esta semana vendrán Pau Ribas y mi hermana Marta Fernández, o sea que estaré bien acompañado.

Hi from Mallorca. My basketball camp started on Sunday and the last two days have been very busy. I always said that my camp motivates me cause I like to be close to the boys and girls and hang out with them. I do everything with them and look out for them the whole time. It’s really hot in Mallorca right now but we try to have fun and go to the pool as much as possible… This week I also had a couple visits from Portland! Casey is the manager of www.trailblazers.com and he wanted to come over and write about what’s going on on the camp every day:  http://trailblazerscentercourt.blogspot.com/. Casey is a cool guy and it’s a pleasure to have him here. This is a more relaxed time than during the season, when he has to go after us… Another person that came is Kaleb Canales, one of our coaches in the Blazers. Kaleb helped me a lot during the season (he speaks Spanish, haha) and he is a great guy, very funny. He came to help at the camp and to work me out to stay in shape… I need to rest during the summer but also keep in the best shape possible… Here you can see a picture of Kaleb and myself after practice Bye!

Hola desde Mallorca. El domingo empezó mi campus y llevamos dos días super intensos. Siempre he dicho que el campus a mi me motiva mucho, me gusta estar con los chicos y chicas y pasar tiempo con ellos. Lo hacemos todo juntos y a mí me gusta involucrarme y estar pendient e de ellos. Hace mucho calor pero intentamos pasarlo bien y aprovechar el tiempo en la piscina… Esta semana, además, han venido a visitarme dos persona desde Portland! Casey es muy agradable y es un placer tenerle aquí, en un ambiente relajado y de verano, muy diferente a lo que él hace durante la temporada. Y también ha venido mi amigo Kaleb Canales, entrenador ayudante en los Blazers. Kaleb me ayudó mucho durante la temporada (habla español, jaja) y es un tío muy simpático. Ha venido para ayudar en el campus y para entrenar conmigo y pueda mantener la forma. Tengo que descansar durante el verano, pero también trabajar y mantenerme en forma… aquí podéis ver una foto de Kaleb y un servidor después de entrenar.
