La temporada se ha acabado. Es muy duro terminar perdiendo en casa pero Phoenix ha demostrado ser mejor equipo. Pero podemos estar orgullosos porque hemos luchado hasta el final y porque nuestros fans nos han apoyado en todo momento. Aún así, es un momento difícil cuando te quedas eliminado.

A nivel individual el sexto partido ha sido el mejor, he recuperado confianza en mi juego y he intentado ser agresivo. Pero no nos ha servido para ganar, que era lo importante. La temporada termina de forma irregular, personal y colectivamente, reflejo de como ha sido toda la temporada. Las lesiones nos han afectado mucho de forma colectiva. Pero, como he comentado antes, los aficionados y la ciudad de Portland han significado un gran apoyo para mí y para mis compañeros.
Ahora, desgraciadamente, ya estamos de vacaciones.

The season is over. It's tough to end it losing at home but Phoenix showed to be the better team. But we can be proud of this team because we fought until the end and of our fans, that supported us all the time. Although it's hard when you are eliminated.

Personally, game six has been my best, I regained my confidence and tried to be agresive. But it wasn't enough to win, which was the important thing. The season ends in an irregular way, personally and collectively, like the season has been. Injuries have played a huge part on the team. But, like I said, tha fans and the city of Portland have meant a great support for me and my teammates. Now, unfortunately, we are on vacations.

Después de los dos primeros partidos en Phoenix ahora tenemos la oportunidad de jugar dos en casa y tenemos que aprovechar el factor cancha. Tenemos que demostrar que somos un equipo difícil de ganar en casa. El año pasado pude experimentar lo increíble que es el Rose Garden en los playoffs y creo que este año será igual. Como equipo tenemos que tener la mentalidad del primer partido, ser agresivos y intentar controlar el tempo. Tenemos que olvidar el segundo partido. Personalmente, no he estado acertado en el tiro y he intentado ayudar al equipo en otras facetas.

Espero que en los próximos partidos todo el equipo de un paso adelante para intentar ganar la eliminatoria.

After the two first game sin Phoenix we now have the opportunity to play two home games, and we have to take advantage of it. We have to show that we are a tough team to beat at home. Last year I had the chance to see how amazing the Rose Garden is during the playoffs and I think this year will be the same. As a team we have to have the mentality of the first game, be aggressive and try to control the tempo. We have to forget the second game. Personally, I haven’t been effective on my shots but I’ve tried to help in other aspects of the game.

I just hope the next game we can all take a step ahead to try to win the series.

La mejor parte de la temporada empieza ahora. Ya sabemos que jugaremos contra los Phoenix Suns, empezando el domingo. Es un equipo muy difícil , con dos superestrellas como Nash y Stoudemire. Pero estamos preparados y muy motivados. Esta temporada hemos ganado dos de los tres partidos contra ellos o sea que debemos tener confianza.

The most interesting part of the season starts now. We already know we will face the Phoenix Suns, starting on sunday. It is a very difficult team, with two superstar in Nash and Stoudamire. But we are ready and very motivated. This season we won two games of three against them so we have to be optimistic.

Los playoffs están muy cerca. El miércoles termina la temporada regular y sólo nos queda saber quién será nuestro rival en la primera eliminatoria. Lo único que sabemos es que empezaremos jugando los dos primeros partidos fuera de casa, Bueno, y también sabemos que estamos preparados para afrontar el reto. La temporada ha sido muy larga y hemos tenido muchas lesiones, yo incluido, pero ahora llega la hora de la verdad. Personalmente se habla de muchas cosas estos días pero yo sólo estoy centrado en ayudar al equipo en el momento más importante de la temporada. Es cierto que los ánimos varían durante la temporada pero ahora estoy muy motivado para hacer unos buenos playoffs, igual que todo el equipo. Esta temporada tenemos jugadores veteranos como Howard, Miller y Camby que ya han jugado muchas eliminatorias y que serán muy importantes para nosotros. Será muy bonito volver a traer los playoffs a la increíble afición de Portland.

The playoffs are really close. The regular season ends on wednesday and we only need to know who will we be playing in the first round. The only thing we know is we will start with two games away from home. Well, we also know that we are ready to take on the challenge. The season has been long and we've had a lot of injuries, myself included, but now the key time has arrived. Personally, there has been a lot of talk but I'm just focused on trying to help my team in the most important part of the season. It's true that the mood of a player has ups and downs during the season but I'm really motivated to have a good playoffs, like the rest of the team is. This season we have veteran players like Howard, Miller and Camby that have been in this situations many times in the past and that will be key for us. It will be great to bring back the playoffs to the amazing fans in Portland.

Después de la lesión que me hice el día 19 en el partido contra Washington la recuperación fe rápida, y sólo me perdí el partido contra Phoenix. Después ya pude volver y hemos ganado los últimos tres partidos, lo que nos ha permitido escalar una posición en la clasificación de la conferencia oeste. Sólo quedan ocho partidos para acabar la temporada regular y queremos acabar fuertes y llegar bien a los playoffs. Personalmente estoy intentando recuperar el ritmo después de la lesión y encontrar la regularidad. Ya os contaré como termina la temporada regular.

After the injury I suffered on the 19^th in the game against Washington I recovered quickly, and I only missed the Phoenix game. After that I came back and we have won three consecutive games, which has allowed us to get one position higher in the western conference standings. There are only eight games left on the regular season and we want to finish strong and arrive in good shape to the playoffs. Personally I’m trying to get back the rhythm after the injury and find regularity. I will explain soon how the regular season ends.

Hace unos días, cuando colgamos un video que hice en un entrenamiento individual, dije que contaría porque escogimos la canción que suena. Pues resulta que Jordi, que trabaja en la empresa que me representa, U1st Sports, y que me visita muy a menudo en Portland, también pasa mucho tiempo en Oklahoma City con el rookie Serge Ibaka. A Serge le gusta mucho la canción y siempre la pone en su coche cuando los dos van juntos. A Jordi se le pegó la canción y me la puso varios días en Portland. Hasta que se me enganchó a mí. Cuando los Thunder vinieron a jugar a Portland Serge vino a mi casa y le puse la canción y le expliqué que era culpa suya que estuviera enganchado… Os dejo aquí el link a ver si se os engancha a vosotros también!

A couple weeks ago, when we posted a video  of a dunk I did in an individual practice I said that I would explain why I picked the song of the video. The story is that Jordi, who works for the company that represents me, U1st Sports, and visits me here quite often, spends also a lot of time with the OKC Thunder’s Serge Ibaka. Serge really likes this song and plays it on the car whenever they are together. Jordi couldn’t get it out of his head and played it to me in Portland. And then I couldn’t get it out of my head… When the Thunder visited us Serge came by my house and I played the song and told him it was his fault… Now here you have the link to the song so maybe you can’t get it out of your head, too!

Esta semana he visitado San Francisco para jugar contra los Warriors. Es una ciudad que me gusta, diferente de la mayoría de ciudades que visitamos. Tiene un aire europeo y las cosas buenas de las ciudades americanas. Y está claro que me gusta porque es la ciudad de mi amigo Dani, que como he comentado en el facebook tiene un restaurante de comida española. Dani conoció a Pau Gasol cuando este llegó a la NBA y luego ha ido conociendo a todos los españoles que llegamos a la liga. La verdad es que nos trata muy bien, hasta nos manda jamón a casa por Navidad! Es una forma de estar un poco más cerca de casa... ganamos el partido contra los Warriors o sea que fue un buen viaje!

This week we visited San Francisco to play against the Warriors. It's a city I like, it's different from many of the cities the we visit. It has the good thing of american cities and also an european feel that I like. I also like it because it's the city of my friend Dani, who has a spanish food restaurant like I commented on facebook. Dani met Pau Gasol when the latter arrived to the league, and then he has met and befriended all the spanish players that come to the league. He takes good care of us, he even sends me spanish ham for Christmas! It's a way to feel closer to home and my people... We won the game against the Warriors so it was a good trip!

Durante el parón del fin de semana del All Star me quedé en Portland para entrenar y estar a tope para la segunda parte de la temporada. Mi amigo Ferran Calderón grabó este video al final de mi entrenamiento con Nick, de los Blazers.

Ya avisé antes de irnos de viaje que este gira por el este era un reto para el equipo, y creo que el balance es altamente positivo: 4 victorias y una derrota. Era un reto no sólo por la dificultad añadida de jugar fuera, también por el hecho de jugar dos veces "back to back" como dice aquí es decir, dos partidos en dos días seguidos. El equipo ha estado unido y hemos sido capaces de sacar un buen balance. Esto nos mantiene por ahora en puestos de playoffs que es nuestro objetivo principal.

Sólo quedan 19 partidos y hay que hacer un último esfuerzo, que no es fácil a estas alturas y con tantos viajes y partidos acumulados...

I warned before going on the road that this east trip was a challenge for this team, and I think that the evaluation is very positive: 4 wins and one loss. It was a challenge not only for playing away from home but also because we had two consecutive back to back games. The team has been close and united and we have been able to have a good record on this trip. This keeps us in the playoffs for now, which is our main goal.

We only have 19 games left on the season and we have to make a last effort, which is not easy with so many trips and games on our backs...

Estos días tengo a unos amigos de Badalona de visita en Portland. Están todos en mi casa y la verdad es que no solo lo pasamos muy bien, también son un buen apoyo. Ellos siempre me animan cuando las cosas no van bien y me felicitan cuando si salen bien. Ayer, en el partido contra los Clippers, algunos de ellos vieron su primer partido de la NBA en directo y estaban emocionados. Para mi es importante tener a gente próxima en los partidos, me da más confianza. Pudimos ganar y pude completar un buen partido. El partido fue el primero sin Steve Blake y Travis Outlaw, que han sido traspasados a, precisamente, a los Clippers a cambio de Marcus Camby, que vio el partido en nuestro banquillo. Steve y Travis han sido muy buenos compañeros la temporada y media que llevo en Portland, pero Camby nos puede ayudar mucho.

Ahora hace un año que inauguramos esta página web, y el crecimiento es notable. Gracias a todos los que visitáis la página! Estad atentos porque las novedades no cesarán!

The last days I've had some friends from Badalona staying at my house in Portland. They are all in my house and it has been a lot of fun. They support me in the good and the bad times and that feels good. Last night against the Clippers some of them saw their first NBA game and they where exited. To me it's important to have close friends close to me, it give me confidence. We were able to win and I had a good game. The game was the first without Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw, who were traded to the Clippers. Marcus Camby, now with us, saw the game from the bench. Steve and Travis have been very good teammates and I'm gonna miss them, but Camby will help a lot this team.

Right now it's the first a anniversary of this web site, and the growth has been great. Thanks to all for following it and stay tuned because a lot of new stuff will come soon!
